Experimental studies on cattle susceptibility to Fasciola hepatica (Trematoda) superinfection.

Calves were infested once, twice or three times with metacercariae of Fasciola hepatica. The highest percentage of the infestation was obtained after a single dose and the lowest one after two doses given with an interval of 8 weeks. Primary infestation induced immunity which protected the calves against superinvasion of the parasite.
