The influence of specific genotypic quality on the yield and elemental content of the maize grain was investigated. The soil contained:P2O5-23.52 mg, K2O-23.85 mg per 100 g or soil, humus-1.99% and pH-7.61. Wheat was the forecrop and it was fertilized with N-187, P2O5-20 and K2O-174 kg/ha. OSSK 187, BC 25-22, BC 388, OSSK 247, BC 407, BC 488, OSSK 588, BC 588, OSSK 644, BC 608 R, NSSK 606, BC 66-61 hybrids were investigated. There were very high differences among the hybrids concerning the yield (F=165.73+++). The yield did not increase regularly with the increase of FAO maturity group. Significant crop density (CD) variance difference for the average yield was not confirmed. Seen from the economic point, the difference is very high. Significant interaction (F=2.2++), but much less notable than the genotype and CD effect was found. The difference in the elements and Na concentration (conc.) in the grain point to the notable genotypic specific quality of the hybrids, but also to their reaction to CD. The smallest conc. variations on the average for all 3 CD were found with N(Kv= 5.49%) and P(Kv=6.54%) and the largest were in Cu(Kv=38.44%) and Ca(Kv=23.01%). There were great differences among hybrids concerning uptake of the elements by grain. The variations were the smallest in P and the largest in Cu uptake. The hybrids had the highest yield, on the average, with highest CD and the largest elements uptake was in medium CD, contributed the most by the most frequently present N and P. K,Ca,Na,Zn and Cu uptake by grain increases with the increase of CD. Fe and Mg had a tendency equal to that of N and P. The total uptake of all elements differs notably between high and low CD. Total uptake of the main 3 nutritive elements is notably correlated with the yield. Correlations between the content of separate elements in the grain and their content compared with the yield are always positive and much more often significant to the concentration.
