The interspecific F1 hybrids obtained from the crosses between Allium cepa L. and the species Allium altaicum, Allium fistulosum, Allium pyrenaicum and Allium roseum have a high degree of sterility and a low number of seeds. The percentage of colored pollen of the F1 hybrids is also low. The hybrids obtained have acquired from the wild parents a certain resistance to the onion fly. They can be used as germplasm sources for viguor and resistance to diseases over winter.
