Pore pressure, settlement, lateral movement, total stress in critical sections within several large dams in Thailand were monitored starting from beginning of construction until several years in services. The monitoring data were useful to verify the design criteria. Furthermore the instrumentations served as the indicator for warning of the potential danger due to seepage erosion, slope failure and excessive settlement of the dam.
