1996
Bracco I. | Le Legard L.
Deforestation has reached an alarming level on the East coast of Madagascar, mainly due to shifting cultivation. The present article, as part of a more extended study, assesses present timber resources and future timber requirements of the population of a specific area. The tree - whether regenerated naturally or planted artificially - is of great importance to the farming population. However, the future could look differently.
