The content of iron compounds groups and forms in the arable grey forest soils are shown to depend on the reclamation time span and on the gleyization rate. The most conspicuous changes occur in soils during the first years of reclamation, they consist of the increase of non-silicate iron content and its strongly crystallized forms and decrease of amorphous iron-organic compounds content as compared to similar soils under forest. With hydromorphism evolving the amount of crystalline forms diminishes contrary to that of the amorphous ones.
