Pig performance was investigated with respect to feeding method (feed consistency). The group I pigs received a ration of liquid mash with 23 % content of dry matter three times a day (dry feed to water ratio 1 : 3). The group II pigs received dry mash administered in troughs ad libitum. The group III pigs also had a free choice of feed while dry mash was metered into one-sided wet/dry feeders. No significant differences in pig performance were found in the experiments, except no. 2, when the pigs receiving wet mash from wet/dry feeders had lower weight gains (P<0.05). In comparison with the group of pigs receiving dry mash from the through ad libitum, the pigs fed wet mash from the feeder ad libium had the weight gains higher by 4.5 % and the feed consumption per 1 kg weight gain lower by 3.5 %. Administration of rations of liquid mash increased the weight gains of pigs by 1.9 % and decreased the feed consumption by 1.9 % in comparison with pigs receiving dry mash ad libitum.
