Comparison of bacterial and fungal biomass in several cultivated soils [as affected by the additions of glucose ammonium nitrate, and cattle slurry].
1984
Kaczmarek W.
Bacterial biomass was, on the average, two times larger in a muck soil than in a loamy sand, regardless of the added amendments. Also the fungal biomass was little affected by the organic addenda nor was it dependent on the type of soil. As a result, the ratio of the size of the bacterial to fungal populations was dependent on the type of soil, the ratio being wider in the muck soil.
