英语. Four species of parasitic plants have been observed in the Coast of Oaxaca, where 9000 ha have been planted with Mexican lemon (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle): 1. Struthanthus cassythoides Mill and Standley, 2. Phoradendron quazumae Trel, 3. Psittacanthus calyculatus (D.C.) G. Don y 4. Cuscuta sp. S. cassythoides is infesting 80 % of the lemon groves. Herbamina and transquat were the best herbicides for the control of the plants, but were highly phytotoxic. Urea was less eficient, but more selective and caused less damage to the lemon trees.

Cuatro especies de plantas se han observado en la Costa de Oaxaca, donde existen plantadas 9000 ha de limon mexicano (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle): 1.-Struthanthus cassythoides Mill y Standley, 2.-Phoradendron quazumae Trel, 3.-Psittacanthus calyculatus (D.C.) G. Don y 4.-Cuscuta sp. El 80 % de las huertas de limon estan infestadas por S. cassyhoides. Los mejores herbicidas para el control de las plantas parasitas fueron Hierbamina y Transquat; sin embargo, afectaron al limon en grado severo. La urea mostro un control menos eficiente, pero mas selectivo y menos danino.
