The studies were carried out at the 3rd-leaf stage, at the beginning and advanced tillering stages. The lines C47/1 and C80, as compared to C41 and C55 were characterized by significantly higher nitrate reductase activity and protein content in leaves in all the stages under study. The percentage protein content in grain and grain protein yield per plant were also estimated. A relationship of nitrate reductase activity in leaves during the development of DH lines to protein content in grain has been found.
