In 1989-91 a field experiment was carried out on the brown acid soil. The plants investigated were two grass species, i.e. Dactylis glomerata and Bromus unioloides. The contents of total and specific protein as well as the protein digestibility depended mostly on the nitrogen fertilization and to a low degree on the potassium fertilization. The fertilization both with nitrogen and potassium did not influence significantly the content of crude fibres in the two investigated grass species.
