The authors set the GLC-FDP and HLPC examining method for the determination of ethylenethiourea (ETU) in beer. This compound is of stationery but mutagen, teratogen, carcinogen and goitrogen effect disintegration product of the ethylenbisdithiocarbamate type fungicides and it is used for treatment of the hop. The authors detected by means of method 0,08-0,13 mg/l ETU in 1983 from 40 domestic beer samples in 4 samples and in 1985-86 from 28 domestic beer samples in 2 samples besides they detected 0,01-0,08 mg/l ETU in 1985-86 from 29 import beer samples in 8 samples. They established the domestic beers generally don't mean danger for the consumers because the WHO let 0,1 mg/l ETU in beer according to our present knowledge but they deem necessary that increased official control of plant protection of the hop should be done and the ETU of usually control in the nature of random test in import beer.
