A rapid method of oil determination by pulsed NMR spectrometry was studied. The research included the choice of the NMR program and of its parameter the determination of the working technique, and the checking of the method on sunflower, soybean and lin-seeds, corn, rape, castor oil plant, sprout meals and broken samples. Standard deviations obtained i.e. square mean errors of the mean value as compared to the Soxhlet method ranged between the minimum value of +/- 0.14 for sunflower seeds and the maximum value of +/- 0.36 for corn germs; for meal they ranged between +/- 0.02 for soybean meal and +/- 0.24 for corn germ meal. The results show that with an accuracy comparable with that of the Soxhlet method, pulsed NMR spectrometry method offers the following advantages: - decrease of the duration of the analysis from 13-15 hours to about 15 min; - simplicity of the technique ; - elimination of solvent consumption; - the possibility of repeating the analysis on the same sample due to the non destructive character of the method.
