In the controlled environment (at the temperature of 25'C, light intensity 350 m s and photoperiod of 12-16 hours) there has been investigated the effect of Fe deficiency and different nitrogen concentrations on chlorophyll (a+b), activity of enzymes RuBPCase and portion of soluble proteins in young plants of sugar beet, tobacco, sunflower, lettuce and soybean. The obtained results indicate that the deficiency of Fe in soluble nutrient significantly decreases chlorophyll content (a+b), activity of RuBPCase and, to a lesser degree, the content of soluble proteins. High nitrogen concentrations, in the conditions of Fe deficiency, have a positive effect on the content of chlorophyll, activity of enzymes RuBPCase and level of soluble proteins. Therefore, it can be assumed that nitrogen in particular conditions may decrease the unfavourable effect of Fe defficiency.
