The results of the experiment showed that urea is the most effective source of N for mulberry plants at the rate of 300 kg/ha. Growth and leaf yield of mulberry significantly increases. Silkworm larvae fed with leaves of the plant treated with 300 kg/ha gave the significantly heaviest larvae just before pupation, shortest larval period, least cocoon number per kilogram, heaviest fresh and dried cocoons, highest cocoon shell percentage. Economic analysis revealed that the use of chicken manure as source of 300 kg N was the most economical and comparable to the use of urea at the same rate.
