As an effect of supplemental irrigation the grain yield increased by 1.35 t/ha whereas high levels of mineral fertilization caused a 0.73 t/ha yield increase of the tested cultivars, with Henika being the best (5.67 t/ha); one mm of water was also most effective for Henika and Kadett. Irrigation and fertilization had affected positively the number and weight of grains per spike, and the weight of 1000 grains.
