Spawning of Meretrix meretrix was induced, successfully, by injection of 0.5-1 ml, 0.1 N NH4OH. Specimens with mature gonad spawned within 30 minutes after injection. Average number of eggs per one female was 200,000. Size of the eggs were 70-80 micron. Eggs were surrounded by 130 micron of mucus membrane. Approximately 3 % of eggs were hatched to be free swimming larvae, and it took 7-8 days before setting. Larvae were set by Isochrysis galbana at the rate of 1x10 (exp.4) to 5x10 (exp.4) cells/ml. Size of larvae were 0.3-0.5 mm, 0.8-1.0 mm, 3.0-6.0 mm, 6.0-8.0 mm. for three weeks, one month, two months and three months old larvae respectively.
