Based on the data of seed yield and seed size of the final test, there were only two lines which were high in both seed yield and seed size. They were: (1) the S.J.2 line number 482 82.68 kilograms per rai or 3.016.75 kilograms per hectare; 15.08 grams per 100 seeds), and (2) the Wakashima mutant line number 151 (458.70 kilograms per rai or 2,866.87 kilograms per hectare; 15.75 grams per 100 seeds). The S.J.2 line number 182 was selected as a high yielding line from 43 mutation-derived lines. The Wakashima line number 151 was derived from an M2 yellow seedling mutant.
