Excelsior, Riesling Klonen 239 and 316/57 GM. wine grape bud were treated to determine the effects of 20 percent calcium cyanamide (CaCN2) plus 50 percent Merit at the ratio of 1:1 (v/v), 1 percent thiourea (w/v) or ethylenechlorohydrin (2-chloroethanol) in water at the ratio of 1:5 9 (v/v) together with the effect of the number of buds per spur (5,7 or buds) on the number of bud burst and flower clusters. The result showed that the application of 20 percent CaCN2 plus Merit 50 percent in Excelsior and 316/57 GM gave the highest bud burst of 5.8 and 3.8 buds, respectively. Ethylenechlorohydrin treatment gave the highest number of bud burst of 3.7 buds in Riesling Klonen 239. The 10-bud spur gave the highest number of bud burst of 3.8, 4.1 and 3.6 buds. The effect of the CaCN2 plus 50 percent Merit at the ratio of 1:1 and 10-bud spur treatment resulted in the highest number of bud burst of 7.5 buds in Excelsior. The application of 20 percent CaCN2 plus 50 percent Merit gave the highest number of flower clusters of 5.3 clusters in Excelsior. The untreated Riesling Klonen 239, gave the highest number of flower clusters of 1.0 cluster. The chemicals do not affect the number of flower clusters in 316/57 GM. The 10-bud spur gave the highest number of flower clusters of 1.0 clusters in Riesling Klonen 239. Pruning types do not affect the number of flower clusters in Excelsior and 316/57 GM.
