Investigations of the beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) in various areas show deviations in the crowns, branching, the shape of the trunk, branch, leaves etc. Deviations that have different taxonomic values are known. It was found that gradual changes in morphological characteristics, especially in leaves, depend on the height above sea level. The Fagus genus belongs to the Fagaceae family and consists of 8 species from the temperate zone of the northern hemisphere. Apart from 2 pure species (F. sylvatica and F. oricutalis), 2 more distant species: F. taurica Pop. and F. moesiaca Czeczott,which are the results of introgression. Beech belongs to the group of trees that are reproduced vegetatively with difficulty. But there are results of successful heterovegetative reproduction. In autovegetative reproduction, good results were achieved in the past decades with the application of various stimulators in reproduction with green cuttings. A wide spectrum of the individual and population variability of morphological characteristics is known today. It can be determined, already in 10-year-old plants, if some properties are hereditary conditioned. There are very few seed plantations in Europe.
