A survey of Merino flocks in South Australia showed that the majority of flocks were joined from October to December (86 percent) with a small number joined from January to March (10 percent). Flocks in the cereal areas were joined earlier than those in high rainfall grazing areas. Implications of these results on potential reproductive loss are discussed.
