Various studies have shown that in Latvia there are great differences among regions, as well as between urban and rural residents, when it comes to such indicators as unemployment, economic activity and poverty. By comparing various elements of the educational system of Latvia and those of Denmark, the author hopes to propose various institutional reforms at the level of secondary education. The article is based on a comparative analysis of statistical data of bouth countries.
