In the years 1991-93 investigations were carried out on Gloster, Cortland, Spartan and Lobo apples from apple orchards of Central Poland. Leaves, fruitlets and fruits were sampled from each orchard and cultivar and analysed for mineral element content. In fruits in addition to mineral element contents at harvest, internal ethylene concentration, starch index, flesh firmness, soluble solids and mean fruit weight were determined.
