The attack of the pest caused important damages in Moldavian area during 1991-1992. From the six sun-flower inbred lines analized, Lc 2175 proved to be the most resistant due to the large number of dominant genes. The significant percentage of genotypes resistent to the attack of Brachycaudus helychrisi Kalt existing in the sunflower germoplasm studied at Podu Iloaiei Research Station showed the possibility of breeding this type without the use of interspecific crosses.
