Sprouted annual shoots and one year-old seedlings of hawthorn were treated with 60Co gamma-rays. The results showed that injury level was heavier and the number of sprouted plants decreased significantly with increasing dose. With cut back pruned method, buds on low position of seedlings were sprouted. At low irradiation doses, level of radiation injury of seedlings was decreased with increasing diameter. When sprouted annual shoots were treated with different doses, the responses were different between various varieties. Fruit on most branches of Miyun became smaller after treatment. Fruit on branches of Large Golden Star showed variation in both directions: larger and smaller. Through treatment, seed number in fruit had no significant change.
