Phenotypic assessment of seven-year-old Eucalyptus camaldulensis (Dehnh.) in PICOP [Paper Industry Corporation of the Philippines].
1996
Siarot P.T.
The three seedlots of Eucalyptus camaldulensis had no significant variation in terms of height and diameter growth at seventh year from outplanting in PICOP [Paper Industry Corp. of the Philippines]. Remarkably, tree-to-tree variations within seedlot had been observed during its period of evaluation which are then potential sources for selection. The diameter at breast height of the three seedlots ranged from 14.08 to 16.35 cm. In terms of total height, the three seedlots showed a range of 17.93 to 18.57 at seventh year from outplanting. Their respective survival which ranged from 73.33 to 84.44 percent did not differ significantly with seedlot No. 12346 as the highest in survival counts followed by seedlot Nos. 12187 and 12139. Other phenotypic characteristics like boleform, seedlot No. 12187 exhibited the highest number of trees that scored 5 at 7.25 percent. However, in seedlot No. 12346, there was no single tree that qualified for score 5. For seedlot No. 12139, only 1.54 percent qualified for score 5.
