A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of plant population and defoliation on the corn production, in Kedondong, South Lampung. The treatments were arranged on the split-plot experiment in randomized complete block design with three replications. The main plot was plant population: 40,000; 50,000; 60,000, and 70,000 plant per hectare; and the sub-plot was defoliation: without defoliation and defoliation when 100 silking. The experiment results indicated that Corn plant population treatment had influenced cob length, 100 grain weight, and grain yield. The response of the cob length, and 100 grain weight to the population showed a linear line; whereas the response of grain yield to the plant population showed a quadratic line. The yield of 3.06 ton/ha was obtained on the maximum population 64.538 plant per hectare. Defoliation when 100 silking had not influenced all variables observed. There was no interactive effect between plant population and defoliation.
