A study of intercropping between pepper and tomato was implemented in highland area (1200 m above sea level). Result of this experiment indicated that: 1. intercropping pepper-tomato did not decrease the virus incidence, but might depress infestation of pests and fruit rot anthracnose; 2. yield of pepper from intercropping pattern higher than that of monoculture system; 3. the best time to plant tomato was at the planting time of pepper or two weeks after pepper. This system might increase the gross output 17.7 and 9.5 percent; and land equivalent ratio 28 and 21 percent, respectively.
