The red crown root rot of soybean caused by Calonectria crotalariae (Loos) Bell and Sobers has a typical symptom of red or dark brown root color that can easily be observed on the basal of stem and root. Infection of soybean plant by the fungus occurs at early growth stage of the plant and becomes more severe when the plant is older. The formation of microsclerotia was first observed just before the flowering stage. Symptoms on leaf showed chlorosis and were easily distinguishable from that of the healthy plants.
