Isozyme analysis was done to do similarity studies between two species of Oriental fruit fly (Bactrocera occipitalis and B. philippinensis) from Puerto Princesa, Palawan [Philippines]. Six presumptive loci coding for four enzymes were revealed. Acid phosphatase (ACP-1) and malic enzyme (ME-1)had one presumptive locus each, while alkaline phosphatase (ALP-1, ALP-2) and esterase (EST-1, EST-2) had two loci each. Two alleles (S and F) were noted for ALP-1, ALP-2, EST-1, EST-2 and ME-1. ACP-1 showed only S. allele. The two species collected from Puerto Princesa, Palawan are genetically similar at these enzyme loci.
