It is widely known that today`s spark-ignition engine in a real exploitation can not work in economy regimes. Point of maximum efficiency of these engines is relatively high but such regimes at normal exploitation can not be reached. One of the main reasons that decrease efficiency on partial load is a consequence of conventional regulation of SI engine load. This paper presents disadvantages of standard load regulation as well as the solution for improvement of efficiency at partial load. Also in this article are presented new nonconventional piston motion law which contribute to variable displacement and set the operating point closer to point of minimum specific fuel consumption.
