This work presents the analysis of system condition on the basis of the provided answers in the given checklists for fire hazards of a facility and equipment, as well as for implementation of fire safety precautions in a facility. Applying the modified matrix in a particular example of milling industry, the fire risk rank is calculated as being high, which means that the workplaces are at increased risk. The recommended measures are given in the checklists. After the implementation of the mentioned recommended measures, the fire risk is ranked as irrelevant, which means that the workplaces would be fire safe. It should be pointed out that the emphasis is on the choice of efficient measures for prevention, elimination and reduction of fire risk, and not on qualitative description and quantitative rank of fire risk. In order to provide a proper fire risk assessment, it is important to analyse and solve the perceived problems thoroughly, which means that we have to be familiar with hazards that cause fire and explosion, together with the measures which are to be undertaken to prevent them. It is necessary to constantly monitoring, measuring and evaluating the results achieved the fire-security situation, because in the process of coming up of the system. Practical application of the modified method of fire risk factor is also possible in other industrial branches, on condition that the questions in the checklists are adapted for every particular branch. The next step in the examination should focus on setting algorithms, as well as logistical support in the formation of a software package, or the introduction of information technology in the process of evaluation and monitoring of fire risk.
