The application of insecticides Confidor SL 200 and Actara 25 WG for eradication of Leptinotarsa decemlineata (potato beetle) has impact on the number of examined microorganisms in the soil. Their number in the soil planted with potato depends on the characteristics of the soil, the time when samples for microbiological analysis were taken, and the type of the applied insecticides. The examined soil has favorable mechanical and chemical characteristics, it is well supplied with nutrients, and it has good environment for microbiological activity. The applied insecticides reduced the number of oligonitrophylic microorganisms and azotobacter. The insecticides do not seem to have any impact on aminoheterotrophic and aminoautotrophic microorganisms. In the examined variant the number of fungi and actinomycetes decreased during the period of potato vegetation. The application of microbiological fertilizer has stimulating effect on the increase of the number of microorganisms in the potato rhizosphere.
