Experimental trials aimed on observation of the effect of preceding crop, seed inoculation and fertilization on production potential of soybean (cultivar OAC Vision) were established on an experimental stand Borovce. The stand is located in a maize-barley production region with a continental climate and in a water protection zone. According to the results, the highly significant differences for all evaluated characteristics were observed among years. It means that the weather had determining influence on all evaluated characteristics. Besides years, yield of soybean was also affected by fertilization. The application of NPK and NPK + Mo ensured significantly higher yield of soybean seeds in the comparison with an unfertilized control. Differences between variants NPK and NPK + Mo were not statistically significant An interaction year x preceding crop was highly significant, and the highest yield of seeds was observed in soybean monoculture in the year 2005. Thousand seed weight (TSW) was also influenced by preceding crop (soybean was more suitable in comparison with barley) and fertilization, and TSW was significantly higher while using NPK + Mo in comparison with unfertilized control. The protein content of seeds was influenced by all factors. This character was positively affected by using soybean as the preceding crop and the inoculation with Rizobin. The highest protein content was observed in the variant NPK + Mo followed by NPK fertilization. Nodules weight was influenced by all factors. This characteristic was positively affected by soybean as the preceding crop and the inoculation with Rizobin. The highest weight of nodules was observed in unfertilized variant. Seed weight was also affected by all monitored factors. This characteristic was positively affected by soybean as the preceding crop and the inoculation with Rizobin. The highest seed weight was observed in variant NPK + Mo and was significantly higher in comparison with variant NPK. The height of plants was affected besides years by preceding crop and fertilization. Spring bariey as the preceding crop as well as fertilization with NPK or NPK + Mo influenced the height of plants positively.
