Effect of slowly acting polymer-coated fertilizer Duslocate on the yield of green papper | Efekt pomaly pôsobiaceho polymérom obalovaného hnojiva Duslocote na úrodu plodov zelenej papriky

Testing of polymer-coated fertilizer Duslocote was realized in two experimental sites: in field small-plot experiments in greenhause with medium-heavy soil under irrigation in locality of Báb (four partial harvests of pepper fruits) and in the second experimental year the green pepper was grown in atmospheric field conditions without irrigation (three partial harvests of pepper fruits). Polymer-coated fertilizer Duslocote was compared with normal granulated fertilizer Duslofert Extra, when both fertilizers were applied at the same rate (100 kg per har N). In locality Báb Duslocote increased the yield of pepper fruits by 4.26 t per ha (7.6%) in comparison to soluble fertilizer Duslofert Extra. However, in locality Kráľová nad Váhom the total yield of pepper in treatment with Duslocote was by 0.53 t per ha (2.8%) lower compared to the yield achieved in treatment with Duslofert Extra. Application of slowly acting polymer-coted fertilizer (Duslocote) increased content of nitrates in fresh matter of green pepper on both experimental sites. In Báb by 47% and in Kráľová nad Váhom by 13%. Utilization of nutrients from Duslocote for pepper fruit yield formation was influenced by the length of the growing season of green pepper as well as by experimental stand. There is high probability that this fertilizer will be suitable for the crops with long growing season grown under intense conditions.
