Based on the research of damages to young larch stands caused by the adelgids Sacchiphantes viridis and Adelges laricis, which was carried out in 29 forest stands at the management-plan areas Gelnica and Smolnik in 2010, we have found that site and stand conditions had great influence on the mean infestation rate of larches by adelgids. As most important ones were tree species composition, slope orientation and inclination, site quality, management forest type group and a way of stand regeneration. The most damaged were larches from artificial regereneration growing in mixture with spruces on SE and SW slopes with medium inclination at poor or neh soils in the fifth forest altitudinal zone.
