Thailand - National Highway Project
Bartone, Carl | Bernstein, Janis | Wright, Frederick
The National Highway Project for Thailand will assist in financing the improvement of the highway system. Currently, roads in Thailand have been poorly maintained and unable to handle the increased amounts of traffic from commuters, travelers, and transporters of goods. As a result, the highway system has become ragged and outdated. The project will correct these problems by: 1) improving existing sections and constructing new sections of three national primary highways; 2) purchasing mechanical equipment to improve and modernize the national highway maintenance organization; 3) procuring accounting machines, instruments, and other miscellaneous items of technical equipment; and 4) consulting engineering services in connection with the project, and the technical training of Thai personnel. These new additions will improve the maintenance and operation of the national highway system in Thailand.
