The proposed loan would help finance: (a) road construction: (i) a four-lane freeway (12.2 km) between Tampere and Kulju with approach roads; (ii) the Kyronsalmi bridge at Savonlinna, with adjacent road sections; (b) asphalt paving of about 2,000 km of roads during 1966 and 1967; (c) final engineering and design by consultants of about 350 km of roads to be improved or constructed as part of the 1966-1975 highway program.
