Romania : natural gas developmnt strategy

This study formulates the gas development strategy for Romania by analyzing (a) the declining level of domestic gas production and the uncertainties surrounding the future availability and supply of domestic and imported gas; (b) the size of the future market for natural gas in relation to the cost of gas supplies and the economic value of gas to the consumer; and (c) the level and prioritization of investments needed in gas sector infrastructure. This report also makes recommendations concerning the ongoing restructuring of the industry and the formulation and implementation of a gas pricing policy, which will ultimately lead to a self-financing gas industry and encourage gas supplies to be used in their highest value applications.
