The Health Sector Modemization Support Sectoral Adjustment Loan is supporting health sector reforms in the Slovak Republic (the Borrower) aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public expenditures on health care, enhancing the quality of services, and increasing the regulatory and planning and policy-making capacity of the Ministry of Health. This memorandum summarizes progress in the implementation of the sectoral reform program and actions taken by the Government to meet the specific conditions of the second tranche. The memorandum concludes that the conditions for the release of the second tranche have been met, that substantial progress has been made in implementing the overall sectoral reform program, and that the Borrower has maintained a satisfactory macroeconomic policy framework. In view of the overall progress in implementing the program supported by the loan, and the full compliance with the specific conditions of release referred to in Section 2.02 (d) (11) of the Loan Agreement and described in this Tranche Release Document, the Government is being informed that the second tranche (Euro 15 million) of the Loan is being released for disbursement.
