Studies of CO2 absorption of Coc Trang (Lumniyzera racemosa Willd) in Can Gio mangrove biosphere reserve, Ho Chi Minh City
2011
Vien Ngoc Nam
Lumniyzera racemosa is grown in Can Gio to increase diverse species composition, while contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere through the accumulation of carbon in the biomass. The study indicates that the form of equation Y = aXb shows the good relationship between biomass, carbon and CO2 with diameter at breast height (DBH0. Research results show CO2 absorbed by forests range from 66.45 to 104.65 tons CO2/ha. The amount of carbon accumulation in biomass varies 17.25 ± 3.72 ton C/ha or 63.30 ± 13.64 tons CO2/ha fluctuate from 49.66 to 76.94 tons CO2/ha; carbon accumulation in branch average 4.42 ± 1.16 tons C/ha, equivalent to 16.23 ± 4.25 tons CO2/ha, remaining in the leaf biomass was 1.64 ± 0.38 tons C/ha, equivalent to 6.02 ± 1.38 tons CO2/ha.
