2007
Stair, G. K | Jr
The challenge to U. S. Pacific Command Strategy in the Pacific Rim looks at the uncertainties effecting U.S. Strategy in the Pacific Rim, provides an assessment of current and future concerns and evaluates currents PACOM strategy. The paper finds that the lack of an overall national strategy toward the Pacific Rim will only detract from future effectiveness of military forces as a tool of statecraft. The paper concludes with several recommendations on how the U.S. can better define its objectives in the region, and thus empower and facilitate military initiatives in theater.
