The exchange of water between Shuaiba lagoon and the Red Sea, forced by the local winds, plays a variable but sometimes dominant role in the flushing of the lagoon. The tidal exchange is greatly affected by the force and direction of the wind, caused by the large diurnal differences in local heating. The seasonal mean sea level variations do not have a significant effect on the flushing of this lagoon. KEY WORDS. Flushing, Coastal Lagoon, Wind, Red Sea. يلعب التبادل المائي الذي يخضع لتأثير الرياح المحلية بين بحيرة الشعيبة والبحر الأحمر دور متغير وفي بعض الأحيان دور سائد في شطف مياه البحيرة، ويتأثر التبادل المائي المدى بشدة بقوة واتجاه الرياح التي تنشأ بفعل التغيرات اليومية المحلية الكبيرة، في حين لا تؤثر تغيرات منسوب سطح البحر الموسمية على شطف مياه البحيرة بشكل ملحوظ.
