In the Republic of Belarus the fodder production branch is an important sector of agriculture, as it specializes in the livestock production direction. Production of milk, meat and other animal products is important for efficient agriculture. A year-round for the animals needs high-quality forage. Therefore, fodder production is given very serious consideration. This article reflects the current state of fodder in the farms of the Grodno region of Belarus, as well as problems and their solutions. The analysis of forages production in farms of Grodno area has shown that a lot of farms and agricultural enterprises are insufficiently provided by forages per one head of conditional cattle. On the average on area on one conditional head of cattle to have nearby 33,1 centner of fodder units. There are insufficient relative density of forage crops in the area of an arable land which makes 26,6 %. It is possible to increase efficiency of forages production in facilities of Grodno area due to optimization of sowing lands under forage crops in view of their economic estimation and optimum terms of cleaning, improvement of a level of farming standard, introduction of achievements of scientific and technical progress.
