In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was realized study of active forms of oxygen, changes of the content of lipid peroxygenation products and barrier properties of membranes in the conditions of combined action of low-temperature and water stress. The objects of study were green germ plants of barley (Hordeum vulgare) of Gonar variety. In course of the study there were presented results of liberation of electrolytes and free nucleotides from barley leaves in the conditions of low temperature and water stress. Combined action of low temperature and flooding was shown to inhibit plant growth as well as to increase ROS production and membrane lipid peroxidation in green barley seedlings, all effects being mainly determined by low temperature influence. The intensification of electrolyte output under stress conditions in data was observed suggesting the disturbance of membrane barrier properties. The results obtained also indicate the reversibility of changes in cell membranes caused by low temperature, flooding and combined action of both low temperature and flooding.
