Study on effectiveness of preplanting and autumn treatment of potato (Solanum tuberosum) tubers by a number of chemical and biological preparations against potato diseases during vegetation season and winter storage period was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus in 2006-2010. During of long-term studies on the effectiveness of the autumn and spring treatment of tubers against black scab (Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn), tuber rots, as well as their influence on the productivity of potato were used following pesticides: Gaucho, Krujzer, Prestizh, Fundazol, Vitavaks, Maksim, Izar, Ditan M-45, Kinto Duo, Rovral Akvaflo, Fitosporin-M (for preplanting spring treatment) and Rovral Akvaflo, Maksim, Kinto Duo (for autumn treatment). The efficiency of these methods to protect the potato sprouts from rhizoctonia (Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn), positive impact of the autumn seed treatment on the productivity of potato, and spring treatment on the manifestation of dry rot were established. It was confirmed that pesticides stimulated the growth and manifestation of disease in the situation when infected seed tubers were treated.
