In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented results of evaluation of winter garlic (Allium sativum L.) collections of different ecological and geographical origin in accordance with their yield, winter hardiness and environmental sustainability. There were identified genotypes the following possessing a complex of economically valuable traits that are of great interest for plant breeding: high winter hardiness - Dubkovski, Yunior, Soyuz, variety samples Khotimon, MG-1, MG-2, MG-3, BS-1, RFB-1; yielding capacity - VCh-1, MG-1, MC-1. Varieties Yunior, Soyuz, Belovezhskij and samples XT, BD-1, MG-1, MG-2, MG-3, MC-1, RFS-1 were characterized characterized by high winter hardiness - 90.0% or more. According the traits of 'total yield' and 'commercial yielding capacity' there were marked variety samples VCh-1 (16.9 t / ha, 15.2 t / ha) and MS-1 (17.9 t / ha, 15.9 t / ha). The selected genotypes Yunior, Soyuz, Belovezhskii, VCh-1, IO-1, BD-1, MG-1 and MC-1 had high winter hardiness, yield and environmental stability in accordance with the studied characteristics. The following varieties and samples had high breeding value of genotype: Junior, Soyuz, Belovezhskii and samples VCh-1, IO-1, BD-1, MG-1.
