A large part of the agricultural lands in the Gilan province is under rice cultivation that it takes for 4_ 5 months of year . The purpose of performing this study is to survey and evaluate qualitative suitability of the beneficiary types of crops like corn, canola, soybean and bean as a second crops in rice farms. This study was conducted on the basis of FAO land suitability giude for these corps. The final land suitability was determined after obtaining the soil ,climate and topography informations of this area and using the soil and climate requirements for these land utilization types that were derived from relevant tables(SysandGivi). In this stage from selected soil units, important and effective properties on yield were selected and classified on the basis of the mentioned methods. The survey shows that studied soils on the basis of USDA soil classification have been classified as Entisols, Mollisols, Inceptisols and Alfisols and include 17 series. The results of climate suitability classification shows that there is not any limitation for corn, canola, soybean and bean and these crops can be cultivated after rice harvesting.According to this study the main limitation factor of the studied soils for second cropping development is poor drainage conditions.
