In order to study the source and rate effect of vermicompost in pot media on Ficus benjamin Growth indices, an experiment carried out in Greenhouse of ornamental plant research station of Lahijan for two years (2003-2004). A factorial complete black design applied for two kinds of vermicompost (vermicompost of cow manure and vermicompost of compost of cow manure+saw dust) in five level (0%, 10%, 20% and 30%) and three replication, with respect to the kind and concentration of vermicompost, it's substituted instead of peat in peat+perlit media (2: 1 volume present) and transferred to 4 liter pots every 10 days, 200 cm3 nutrient solution applied which comsist of 130 mg/liter nitrogen, 32 mg/liter phosphorus and 117 mg/liter potash. Conclusion showed that. The effect of cow manure+sawdust vermicompost on shoot and dry leaf weight, dry leaf weight and media cu (p=0.05) was more than the cow manure vermicompost and the vermicompost rate effect showed that 20% vermicompost significantly increased the shoot and fresh leaf weight, shoot and dry leaf weight, dry leaf weight with comparison to control. The rates of %10, %30 and %4 in shoot and fresh leaf weight, shoot and dry leaf weight, dry leaf weights indices were no significant differences with its control. With respect to the nigh level of EC in media with %40 vermicompost and high cost of peat for potting media, applying of 20% vermicompost could be economically feasible.
