Tea breeding has an important role to increase of tea yield, quality and resistance or tolerance to biotic or abiotic stress. To increase of yield and quality of tea, study on genetic base and research work on breeding methods is necessary. In this survey a program was compiled in order to eliminate unsuitable planting materials problems, identify priorities, and project work, with in one year. In the beginning the situation of tea breeding in Iran was investigated and present state of tea genetic and its breeding was identified by use of reference study, interview with beneficiaries and preparing questionnaire. The problems were collected in the meeting with beneficiaries and experts. Then internal and external references were investigated about every problem. The results of external researches were compared with political, economical, cultural and social conditions in Iran. At the end of this study, main proposals were defined on the base of research priorities op tea quality.
